Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) In business for more than a century, Scherer Furniture's owner woke up to quite a surprise when he opened Sunday's edition of the Buffalo News.

The paper had a picture of the Genesee Street business in an article about properties in the city for rent and potential renovation.

The problem, Jim Scherer says, is that his property is very much not for sale. Scherer, says the paper, which, according to him said they got the list of properties from the city, got it wrong.

Eyewitness News was able to review that list and the Scherer Furniture building was not on the list.

"There on page 10 was my store, available for renovation, and it's not," said Scherer.

The article also featured Schaefer Plumbing Supply, another business still in operation and using their property on Clinton Street.

The Buffalo News tells us they printed a correction in today's paper.
