Area Food Pantries Experience Shortage as Thanksgiving Nears

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Thanksgiving is less than a week away and local food pantries are short on the meals main ingredient, Turkey.

The Southtowns Christian Center in Lakeview serves between 90 and 95 families per week through the two food pantries that they run. Brent Doyle, Associate Pastor, says to this date they have not received any turkey to hand out to families this season.

The Southtowns Christian Center has one more major distribution to families on Wednesday and they are looking for your help. If you would like to donate a turkey just click on the newslinks tab on the top of our homepage, there you will find a link to the Southtowns Christian Center website.
