Amherst Police Are Investigating a Violent Armed Robbery

Amherst, NY (WKBW) Shortly before five Friday morning two men burst into the McDonald's restaurant on Kensington Avenue in Amherst, wielding sawed off shotguns. Police say the suspects forced the employees to the floor, roughing them up in the process. The two suspects then stole an unspecified amount of cash before running from the building through the back door. The employees were evaluated at the scene by paramedics, but declined to be transported to the hospital.
Both suspects are described as black males with thin builds, approximately six feet tall. One was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black pants, the other wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. If you have information about this crime please call Amherst Police at 689-1342.
