Alix Rice Memorial Skate Park Taking Shape

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) - After more than a year of fundraising and planning ,following the hit-and-run death of an Amherst teenager, the Alix Rice Memorial Skate Board Park is now taking shape.

Alix Rice, 18, was struck and killed by a drunk driver almost 3 years ago.

The driver of the car, Dr. James Corasanti, was charged with vehicular manslaughter but was aquitted. He was released from prison this past april after serving 8 months for a DWI charge.

The location of the Alix Rice Memorial Skate Park is expected to be announced in the next 2-4 weeks. The park is expected to be open in Spring.
