With the 86th overall pick the Buffalo Sabres selected Casey Fitzgerald in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Fitzgerald is a defender and will be a sophomore for the Boston College Eagles this upcoming season.
He led all defensemen in scoring as a freshman and was tied for the team lead with a +27 rating. He had 4 goals and 23 assists last season.
He was also the 11th highest-scoring defenseman in college hockey.
