Tied at two with a little more than three minutes to play in the World Championships semifinals, Ryan O'Reilly pounded home his own rebound to lift Team Canada past Russia 4-2 and into the Gold Medal Game in the IIHF World Championships on Saturday.

O'Reilly and his countrymen will look to secure Canada's third straight tournament title.  They also won in 2015 and 2016.

The Canadians, which trailed 2-0 heading into the final frame, got on the board less than a minute into the period with a goal from Mark Scheifele to pull within 2-1 of the Russians.

Nate MacKinnon provided the equalizer with five minutes to play before O'Reilly's game-winner two minutes later.

The Sabres forward also picked up an assist on Sean Couturier's empty netter.

Team Canada will battle Sweden for Gold on Sunday.
