BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Sabres scored five unanswered goals in the third period on Saturday, beating the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1.

Ryan Miller was the first star of the game as he made 30 saves, including a diving, shorthanded glove save on Rod Brind'Amour in the second period.

Mike Grier, Clarke MacArthur, Derek Roy, Jochen Hecht and Thomas Vanek all scored third period goals for the Sabres. Tyler Myers notched three assists.

The Sabres next visit Toronto on Monday.
