1) Buffalo MUST win final two games to reach 92 points and 40 wins AND
2) TWO of the following three things must happen:
a) Boston loses its last two games in regulation
b) Philadelphia earns no more than one point in its final two games
c) Washington earns no more than one point in its final two games

If the Sabres and Caps finish tied with 92 points, Washington would have more wins and therefore would win the tiebreaker.

If the Sabres finish tied at 92 points with Boston and/or Philly for the last playoff position, Buffalo would make the playoffs, and here's why:
