Vanek, Miller lead the way as Sabres knock off Penguins

Pittsburgh (WKBW) Thomas Vanek scored a pair of goals and Ryan Miller made 40 saves as the Buffalo Sabres knocked off the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 on Tuesday night. The Penguins, the top team in the Eastern Conference, fell to 14-2 in their last 16 at home. Both losses are to Buffalo.

Vanek, who had a three point night, opened the scoring for the Sabres with his 19th goal of the season in the first. He then added an empty net tally in the final seconds to hit the 20 goal mark. Jochen Hecht and Steve Ott also scored for the Sabres. Chris Kunitz and Jarome Iginla scored for the Penguins.

Buffalo wraps up the season at home against the Islanders on Friday night.
