Sabres snap skid, beat Atlanta

Atlanta (WKBW.com) The Sabres snapped a five game losing streak with a 4-1 win in Atlanta on Wednesday. Tyler Ennis, Tyler Myers, Cody McCormick and Thomas Vanek all scored for Buffalo. Ryan Miller had 17 saves in the win.



The Sabres opened the scoring in the first period when Steve Montador hit Tyler Ennis with a break-out pass. Ennis skated in and then beat Atlanta goaltender Chris Mason for his first goal of the season.



Buffalo added a pair of goals in the second. Tyler Myers scored his first goal of the season on the power play, and then Cody McCormick followed up a Paul Gaustad shot 1:04 later to make it 3-0 Sabres.



Tobias Enstrom scored Atlanta's lone goal. Enstrom beat Ryan Miller on the power play to cut the Buffalo lead to 3-1. The Sabres would retake a three goal lead when Thomas Vanek scored his first of the year on a breakaway at the 10:25 mark of the third.



The Sabres improve to 2-4-1 on the season, they host Ottawa on Friday.
