Sabres shut-out by visiting Habs

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Thomas Vanek made his first trip back to Buffalo since being traded back in October as his Montreal Canadiens skated into town to take on the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo found themselves in a 2-0 hole early and lost starting goaltender Jhonas Enroth in the second period after a collision in the net. Rochester American's goaltender Nathan Lieuwen, who was called up Sunday morning to the Sabres, came in for the injured Enroth and stopped all 10 shots he faced.

Buffalo suffers their sixth straight loss and could be without Enroth for some time. Head coach Ted Nolan said the goaltender will be evaluated in the morning. Goaltender Michael Neuvirth missed Sunday's game due to a lower body injury.

The Sabres now hit the road for five straight game. They take on the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
