Sabres run off home ice by Montreal

Buffalo (WKBW) Another night. Another blow to the Sabres slim playoff hopes. This one came in embarrassing fashion on home ice. The Sabres were outshot 42-15 in a 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

Rene Bourque, Alex Galchenyuk, Brendan Gallagher, Andrei Markov and P.K. Subban all scored for Montreal who clinched a playoff berth with the victory. Brian Flynn had the lone goal for the Sabres who remained in 11th place in the Eastern Conference 6 points out of a playoff spot with 7 games to play.

Ryan Miller surrendered 4 goals on 32 shots in the first two periods before being replaced by Jhonas Enroth in the third. The Sabres host Philadelphia on Saturday.
