Montreal (WKBW.com) Ryan Miller made 40 saves, and Thomas Vanek scored the eventual game winning goal with 2.8 seconds left in the second period, as the Sabres knocked off the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Following a slow start Jordan Leopold tied the game at one for the Sabres scoring a goal off a nice feed from Drew Stafford. Vanek then gave the Sabres the lead in the final seconds of the period scoring his 4th goal of the season on a set play off the face-off. Christian Ehrhoff then added an empty net goal for the Sabres in the third.

The 4-1 Sabres now head to Florida for a pair of games.
