Sabres beat Columbus in exhibition tilt

Buffalo (WKBW) Goaltender Jhonas Enroth had 26 saves and Mikhail Grigorenko had a goal and an assist as the Buffalo Sabres knocked off Columbus 3-0 in exhibition action on Wednesday night.

Ville Leino opened the scoring for the Sabres in the second period. Leino put home the rebound of a shot by Cody Hodgson to make it 1-0 Buffalo at 4:58 of the second. Grigorenko took advantage of a pass from Drew Stafford in the second period to make it 2-0. Grigorenko then picked up an assist on an empty net goal by Zemgus Girgensons.

The Sabres wrap up the preseason on Friday in Carolina. Play in Detroit next Wednesday in the regular season opener.
