Calgary (WKBW) The Calgary Flames scored a pair of third period goals to hand the Buffalo Sabres a seventh straight loss on Tuesday night. The 3-1 setback spoiled the first NHL start for Sabres goaltender Nathan Lieuwen.

Mike Cammalleri scored the go ahead goal at 9:16 of the third for the Flames. His 20th of the year gave Calgary a 2-1 lead. Paul Byron then added the insurance with a shorthanded goal later in the period for the Flames.

Drew Stafford gave the Sabres an early first period lead with his 14th of the season. Lieuwen made 23 saves in the loss.

The Sabres play in Edmonton on Sunday.
