New York (NHL.com) Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers has been suspended, without pay, for three games for boarding Montreal Canadiens forward Scott Gomez during NHL Game #1033 in Buffalo on Monday, March 12, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Myers will forfeit $14,189.19. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 13:11 of the third period. A minor penalty for boarding was assessed on the play.

Myers will miss three of the Sabres final 12 games. Buffalo hosts Colorado on Wednesday night. The Sabres are four points out of a playoff spot.
