UNIONDALE, NY - (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres allowed two goals in the first period and two more in the third as they fell to the New York Islanders 4-1 on Saturday night. It was the Sabres' fifth straight defeat.

Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo (power play) beat Buffalo goalie Jhonas Enroth in the first period.

Tyler Ennis (power play) scored his 18th goal of the season early in the third period to cut the Isles lead to one goal. However, Ryan Strome tallied just 39 seconds later for New York.

Cal Clutterbuck's empty net goal iced things for the Islanders.

The Sabres return home Sunday night to host former Sabres Thomas Vanek, Daniel Briere and the Montreal Canadiens.
