BUFFALO, NY - (WKBW) Ryan Miller made 34 saves for his career-high sixth shutout of the season and Cody Hodgson scored his first two goals in a Sabres sweater as Buffalo blanked the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night 3-0.

Jason Pominville scored the other goal for the Sabres.

The win moves Buffalo into a points tie with the eighth place Washington Capitals. Both teams have 80 points. The Caps have a game in-hand.

The Sabres next visit the New York Rangers on Friday.
