Sabres Beat Devils 6-1

NEWARK, NJ - (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres beat the New Jersey Devils 6-1 on Saturday night at Prudential Center.

Sabres forward Thomas Vanek scored twice in the win. Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller made 25 saves.

Drew Stafford opened the scoring for the Sabres in the first period. Tyler Myers followed with another first period goal.

Tyler Ennis and Patrick Kaleta scored for the Sabres in the opening 8:17 of the middle frame. Kaleta's goal chased Jersey's Johan Hedberg from the Devils net. Martin Brodeur replaced Hedberg.

Brodeur allowed both of Vanek's markers.

The Sabres next visit the Flyers on Tuesday.
