Rivet Claimed by Columbus

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) Craig Rivet is on his way to Columbus. The former Sabres captain was claimed on re-entry waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In over two seasons in Buffalo Rivet has scored four goals, 38 assists and 237 penalty minutes in 165 regular season games. He has one goal, two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 23 games this season.

Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson made the following statement on the team's official website:

"Craig Rivet brings steady play, experience and leadership to our team, which will be very important as we head down the stretch this season," said Howson. "We think he will be a good addition to our group and are happy to have him as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets."
