Buffalo (WKBW) Michal Neuvirth made a career high 51 saves but it wasn't enough to stop the losing skid for the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres were out shot 55-23 in a 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.
Jiri Tlusty scored the eventual game winning goal at 13:43 of the third period for Carolina. Jeff Skinner, Alexander Semin also scored for the Hurricanes and Nathan Gerbe added an empty net goal.
Tyler Ennis scored his 17th goal of the season for the Sabres on a penalty shot in the first period. Drew Stafford scored his 13th goal in the third. The Sabres play at the New York Islanders on Saturday.
