BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The chase for Shane Doan is on and the veteran free agent forward is considering the Buffalo Sabres as his next team.
"Shane has interest in the Sabres," Doan's agent Terry Bross tells Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner via email. "We have been in contact. Shane is headed home to Kamloops for a few days, then we will contact teams and let them know if they are a possibility. As of today, [the] Sabres are a possibility."
Bross also says that the 35-year-old Doan was in New York City over the past few days for NHLPA labor meetings and used that time to visit two teams. Those two teams are reportedly the Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers.
He adds that Doan has not yet set up any additional trips to visit other teams.
The Penguins, Red Wings, Kings, Sharks, Canadiens and Canucks are also reportedly interested in his services.
Doan has spent his entire career with the Phoenix/Winnipeg franchise.
