Hecht out "weeks", will miss game one against Bruins

July 8, 2010 Updated Jul 8, 2010 at 3:36 PM EDT

Buffalo, NY (WKBW.Com) Sabres forward Jochen Hecht will now miss "weeks" after having another procedure on his injured pinkie. Hecht did not participate in the teams morning skate on Thursday, and will not play in game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight against the Boston Bruins.

Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff said on Thursday that the forward will be missed. "Jochen was reevaluated, and had to have further work done", said Ruff on Thursday morning. "He will now be out for weeks, instead of days. It's disappointing."

The Sabres and the Bruins drop the puck on their first round series tonight at 7pm at the HSBC Arena.
