BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- The wait is over as playoff hockey finally hits Buffalo.

The Sabres will host game one of the series tonight against the Boston Bruins. All playoff home games will feature a 'Party in the Plaza' where fans can watch the game on a big screen television.

Sabres center Tim Connolly is ready to hit the ice after missing the last 9 regular season games with a foot injury. Connolly is expected to play tonight in game one.

Also looking forward to the playoff action is rookie defenseman Tyler Myers, who will see his first NHL playoff game tonight.

In other player news, forward Jochen Hecht will miss several weeks on the ice due to his thumb injury.

Game 2 will be played Saturday, also at HSBC Arena.

Channel 7's Eyewitness News and Sports team will cover the action on and off the ice in our "Quest For The Cup" coverage.
