BOSTON, MASS. (WKBW) - The Buffalo Sabres lost to the Boston Bruins on Thursday night 3-1. The game was the first of a regular season-ending three-game road trip for the Sabres.

Derek Roy opened the scoring for the Sabres in the first period. Roy notched his 25th goal of the year.

Miroslav Satan scored in the second to tie the game. Dennis Wideman and Mark Recchi added third period goals.

Patrick Lalime made 31 saves in the losing effort.

The Sabres end the regular season on the road, in Ottawa on Saturday and in New Jersey on Sunday.
