(Toronto - WKBW.com) For the first time all season the Buffalo Sabres dropped a game to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night. Luke Schenn broke a 2-2 tie in the third period with his 5th goal of the season, and Fredrik Sjostrom added an empty netter, as the Leafs beat the Sabres 4-2.

Derek Roy and Steve Montador scored for Buffalo. The Sabres next play Saturday in Montreal.

The Sabres lead in the Northeast division was cut down to five points on Thursday as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in a shoot-out.
