The stage is set for Super Bowl 44 in Miami. The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints will now face off for the Lombardi Trophy on February 7th at Sun Life Stadium.
The Colts beat the Jets 30-17 to capture the AFC Championship and advance to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in franchise history. Colts QB Peyton Manning finished the day 26-for-39 for 377 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in the victory.
New Orleans will represent the NFC after beating the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime. The Saints are heading to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. Garrett Hartley kicked a 40-yard field goal in overtime to secure the victory for the Saints. Brett Favre threw his second interception of the game late in regulation that took away a possible game winning score for the Vikings.
