A few years ago, there was just six unified basketball programs in Western New York.

Starpoint High School in Lockport was one of the "original six" and when they began the unified basketball program, they had 12 students on the team as either partners or athletes.

Years later, they're now at 28 total athletes and partners involved in the school's unified basketball program and they expect it to keep growing.

Coach Kathie Kreppenneck says they're only graduating one athlete and one student coach which means middle schoolers who weren't yet old enough to join will be adding to the team's roster.

Starpoint has four more home unified basketball games scheduled this season.
