Semifinals set for Section VI small school boys hockey after quarterfinal action

The Section VI small school boys hockey semifinals are set.

Four teams punched their tickets Sunday during the quarterfinal round at the Northtown Center in Amherst, N.Y.

West Seneca East beat Lew-Port 6-2, outshooting the Lancers 53-27. Connor Mentel and Tyler Arndt each had two goals in the win while Jagger Maving made 25 saves in the win.

Williamsville East beat Grand Island 5-2, outshooting the Vikings 28-24.Nick LaFornara had two goals including the eventual game-winner while Adam Rosenthal had 22 saves in the win.

West Seneca West beat Kenmore West 5-2, outshooting the Blue Devils 38-23. Jason Wojciechowski had two goals in the win while Noah Sobczyk made 21 saves in the win.

Sweet Home beat Kenmore East 3-0, outshooting the Bulldogs 38-25. Eric Abbate had two of the Panthers goals while Michael Lisman got the shutout.

The small school semifinals are set for Wednesday, February 21st at the HarborCenter. West Seneca East will play Sweet Home at 6pm while West Seneca West will play Williamsville East at 8:15pm. Winners will advance to Section VI Championship.
