Section VI small school boys hockey final set, West Seneca West to play Sweet Home for title

The Section VI small schools boys hockey final is set.

West Seneca West will play Sweet Home for the title next week after both won their semifinal games Wednesday night. The games were played at the HarborCenter.

In the first game of the night Sweet Home upset top seed West Seneca East 3-2. Both teams had 28 shots on goal.

It was a back and forth game as both teams struck in each of the first two periods. It was the third period where Panthers player Tyler Edholm scored on the power play for the game-winning goal to give them the win. Kyle Neudorf and Blake Russo also added goals in the win.

In the second game of the night West Seneca West beat Williamsville East 5-3 despite being outshot by the Flames 34-25.

The Indians struck first and never trailed following a goal from captain Parker Leemer. Chase Chodkowski added two goals while Colin Deubell and Tyler Dunning each added one in the win.

West Seneca West and Sweet Home will play for the Section VI title on Monday, February 26th at 6:15pm at the KeyBank Center.
