Section VI large school boys hockey semifinals set after four teams punch tickets

The Section VI boys large school hockey semifinals are set.

On Saturday, four teams punched their tickets to the next round after quarterfinal action at the Northtown Center in Amherst, N.Y.

Top seed Williamsville North beat 8th seed Niagara Falls, 11-0. Brett Sardina had a hat trick on the day while Andrew Bruno added two goals and an assist.

Second seed Niagara Wheatfield picked up a 15-0 win over 7th seed Lockport. Nick Peters picked up a hat trick and six assists in the win while Chace Woods racked up five assists along with his one goal.

Third seed Orchard Park held on for a 3-2 win over 6th seed Clarence, outshooting the Red Devils 22-20. Jimmy Doran scored two goals including the game-winner while Jack Kinsman added one.

Fourth seed Lancaster beat 5th seed Frontier 2-1, outshooting the Falcons 39-25. Ryan Rjvoight scored both goals in the win while Derek Lasher and Noah Machlowski ead picked up two assists.

The semifinals are set for Tuesday, February 20th at the HarborCenter. Williamsville North will play Lancaster at 6pm while Niagara Wheatfield will play Orchard Park at 8:15pm. The winners will advance to the Section VI Championship that takes place Monday, February 26th at the KeyBank Center.
