You might not know her name just yet, but she’s hoping one day you will.

“I want to be an Olympian,” Miquela Hunter said.

An eighth grader at Olmsted, Miquela is one step closer to reaching that lofty goal. On Tuesday she landed in Australia to compete in a track meet in Brisbane.

“It just shows that you have to give all glory to God because if it wasn't for him and all the people he brought into my life and all the support, I wouldn't have this experience.”

Competing at a high level is nothing new for Miquela. She's been running varsity since seventh grade and competing at the state level.

But does she have any specialties she'll be bringing down under?

“The 400, the 200, the 100, the 800, 4 by 4 and sprints.”

She'll be in Australia for the next two weeks working on her technique and representing the united states.

It's a trip of a lifetime and another step towards her dream

“I am super proud. Very, very proud, she's far exceeded my expectations.”

“Just to all the young people, you can do anything you put your mind too.”
