With a 70-44 win over Fredonia, Olean head coach Jeff Anastasia became Western New York's all-time wins leader in high school basketball, with his 545th career victory.

The Huskies improved to 9-2 overall and won their fifth straight game. The Hillbillies are now 3-8 on the year.

Anastasia's 545 wins also ranksninth all-time in New York State High School history.

"When you look back, you have dreams and aspirations. You want to be successful and I never thought I'd be this successful," he said. "It's been a heckuva run and I've been so fortunate to have great players and great people that I've been surrounded by.  I've been really fortunate.  It's been an incredible run and it's hard to believe how fast 30 years has gone by."

Anastasia tied legendary Bishop Timon coach Mel Palano's record of 544 wins in an 84-25 win over Falconer, and received a call from the 91-year old, who congratulated him on tying the mark.

"He said 'Coach, I just want to congratulate you and your team. It's an unbelievable accomplishment.  A lot of hard work goes into all those wins.'"
