LG Castillo is one of the top baseball prospects to come out of Western New York in recent years.

Originally committed to playing college baseball at Oklahoma, the Legends' slugger announced on Twitter Friday night he would sign with the Milwaukee Brewers.

"It's a dream come true, 100 percent," he said. "My legs are still a little jelly-legged because it was a nervous day. Today was the deadline to do all the contract work. Today was a good day."

Castillo, who was drafted in the 17th round by the Brewers, hit .588 with nine homeruns in his senior season at Lancaster and was named 7 ABC's Super 7 Athlete of the Week to begin the spring season.

"It pushes me. It makes me want to develop into the kind of player they want to see," Castillo said.  "It pushes me and inspires me to be something greater. I want to be an inspiration for the kids I grew up around.  Now that they see me and see where I came from, that'll give them inspiration that they can do the same thing."

According to Prep Baseball Report, Castillo was ranked as the fourth best player in New York and the second ranked prospect among outfielders.

The 17-year-old will officially put pen to paper on Saturday to become a member of the club.

"I'm here, I'm ready to grind it out and go to work."
