Orchard Park - The Canisius Crusaders and Cardinal O'Hara Hawks are Monsignor Martin Athletic Association football champions after victories at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Thursday night.
Canisius grabbed it's first outright championship since 1980 by beating St. Joe's in the "AA" game 58-34. Senior running back Ricky Pringle had 22 carries for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Crusaders in the victory.
In the class "A" game Cardinal O'Hara picked up it's fifth straight title by beating St. Mary's of Lancaster 23-7. Senior running back Fred Nolley paced the Hawks with 10 carries for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns.
