Daemen thumps UDC, improves to 10-1 on home court

If you're looking for the toughest place to play in DII Men's College Basketball, Lumsden Gymnasium on Main Street just might be in the running.

The Daemen Men's Basketball team improved to 10-1 on home court with a 97-77 win over the University of District of Columbia, which entered tied for first in the East Coast Conference.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 12-6 overall and 6-4 in ECC play.

Arif Mehmetaj paced Daemen with 21 points, while Jeff Redband added 19 on 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.

As a team, the Cats shot a blistering 63 percent from the floor and led by as many as 28 in the game.

They return to action Wednesday against LIU-Post. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Daemen.
