New Jersey (WKBW.com) St. Bonaventure star Andrew Nicholson is heading to the NBA after being selected 19th overall in the draft by the Orlando Magic on Thursday night.
The anticipation ended around 9:24 PM when NBA Commissioner David Stern came to the podium and told the basketball world that Nicholson's next career path would be with the Magic, a team led by superstar Dwight Howard. Nicholson becomes the first Bonnies player since Bob Lanier in 1970 to be drafted in the first round.
The 6'9'' forward ranks second in Bonnie's history in points (2,103) and he also was named 2012 Atlantic-10 Player of the Year. Nicholson watched the NBA Draft on Thursday night with his family at a draft party in his hometown of Toronto.
