EDISON, N.J. - (Niagara Press Release) Niagara men's basketball freshman forward T.J. Cline was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second time in his career.
Cline averaged 12 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game as Niagara extended its conference winning streak to seven games in a sweep of Siena and Manhattan. Cline was extremely efficient from the field. The 6-foot-8 forward from Plano, Texas, shot 77.8 percent (7-for-9) from the field, 66.7 percent (4-for-6) from the behind the arc and 75 percent (6-for-8) at the free-throw line in the two games. Cline has scored in double figures in three straight games for his longest streak in his brief career. He scored 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting and grabbed five rebounds in the win over Siena. Cline had five rebounds and scored 11 points, including draining a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left to give NU a 63-60 lead against Manhattan.
Niagara, which sits in first place in the conference, brings its seven-game MAAC win streak on the road at Siena on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m.
