ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Ellie Radke had 14 points and nine rebounds
as second-seeded Canisius blew out 10th-seeded Niagara 71-46 in the
quarterfinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament
Friday.
Brianna Lucas added 13 and Micayla Drysdale had 12 for the
Golden Griffins (23-7, 15-4 MAAC), who set a tournament record with
12 3-pointers. The previous record of 10 was held by three teams,
most recently Fairfield, which hit 10 in last year's tourney.
Kristina Walton had nine points and seven rebounds for the
Purple Eagles (3-28, 2-17), who shot 27 percent from the floor.
Canisius led wire-to-wire and used a 25-2 run in the opening
half to take a 38-19 lead into the break.
