ECC Falls in Tournament Opener

Columbus State Community College hit two free throws with 14.5 seconds remaining to break a tie on the way to a 67-64 win over Erie Community College in the first round of the NJCAA Divsion II tournament Wednesday night.

The Kats led by as many as ten in the second half but were unable to hold the lead. Lackawanna grad Ray Blackburn scored 27 points in the losing effort.

ECC will now play in the consolation bracket Friday morning at 11 in Danville, Illinois.
