The #1 ranked Daemen volleyball's quest to earn to their trip to the DII NCAA Tournament took a hit on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to #2 New York Institute of Technology in the East Coast Conference Championship.
The loss snaps Daemen's 15-game winning streak.

The Wildcats dropped the first two sets 25-23 and 25-21, before battling back to win the third set 26-24.
The Bears opened the fourth and decisive set on an 7-1 run and never looked back, winning the title with a 25-20 victory in set four.

Ashley Drzymala tallied 16 kills, but also had 14 errors and hit a lowly .039 in the match. As a team the Wildcats hit just .117.
Daemen will now wait for the selection show on Monday to find out if they earn an at-large bid. The DII NCAA Tournament Selection Show begins at 7:30.
