July 14, 2010 Updated Jul 14, 2010 at 3:27 PM EDT

BUFFALO, NY (UB) - Desmond Howard, one of only four football players in history to win both the Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player, will be the keynote speaker at the annual UB Football Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, August 4 at the Millennium Hotel.
Tickets for the event are $50 per person or $500 for tables of eight and includes a post-luncheon meet and greet with Howard and UB head football coach Jeff Quinn as well as tickets to the Bulls' home opener vs. Rhode Island.
Howard will serve as the keynote speaker for the luncheon that starts at 11:30 am. The all-time Michigan great, who is currently an ESPN analyst who is featured on the network's immensely popular College Gameday show, won the Heisman Trophy in 1991 and was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXI for the Green Bay Packers. During his college career at the University of Michigan, Howard set or tied five NCAA and 12 Michigan records. He also led the Big Ten Conference in scoring with 138 points during the 1991 season on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, and earning first-team All-American honors. Howard captured 85% of the first place votes in balloting for the Heisman, the largest margin in the history of the trophy at that time.
Howard will be joined at the dais by head coach Jeff Quinn and a few of the key Bulls of 2010. Quinn, who has coached in BCS bowl championship games (Orange and Sugar Bowls) the past two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Cincinnati, will give fans an inside look on what the Bulls have in store when they take the field on September 2 at UB Stadium against Rhode Island.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 716-645-7796 or by going online to www.buffalobulls.com.
