Orchard Park, NY (WKBW) Three games were on the slate Friday night at the Ralph. First, Alden took on Lackawanna in the Class B final. It was a nail-biter all the way through. Alden took at 14-6 lead late in the 4th. Lackawanna scored with under a minute left, but a huge stop on the two point conversion attempt secured the Class B championship for Alden.
The second game was in Class C. Southwestern hadn't lost in over a year, taking on underdog Fredonia. But the Hillbillies didn't believe the hype. They drove down the field with under a minute left and scored the game winning touchdown to claim Class C.
The last game of the night came in Class AA, with Clarence taking on Orchard Park.
Thursday's action decided two of the Section 6 Championships. First, Silver Creek upended Randolph to win the Class D championship. The Black Knights used an early offensive spree to take out the Cardinals 21-14.
The other matchup was between two undefeated heavyweights for the Class A title. Sweet Home brought at 35 game winning streak into the game, and Williamsville South brought their record-setting QB Joe Licata. But after being tied at halftime, the Panthers ran away with their fourth straight section championship after scoring 33 straight points to win 48-15.
