Buffalo (WKBW.com/Sabres release) The Buffalo Sabres have traded the negotiating rights of defenseman Steve Montador to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a seventh-round draft selection in the 2012 or 2013 Entry Draft. The Chicago draft pick was previously acquired from Florida in the Tomas Kopecky trade on Monday. The pick is presently conditional to the Nashville Predators. If that pick is not available, Florida will transfer their own seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
In two seasons in Buffalo Montador played in 151 games for the Sabres. He scored 10 goals and added 39 assists.
