Ottawa (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres dug themselves an early hole they simply couldn't climb out of on Tuesday night. The Sabres lost 4-3 to the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place marking the teams third straight defeat.
Jhonas Enroth had a tough night in net for the Sabres. The goaltender gave up three goals on the first ten shots he faced to fall to 0-2 on the year.
Ottawa forward Chris Neil scored the eventual game winning goal in the second period. The tally gave the Senators a 4-1 lead at the time, but the Sabres fought back. Jordan Leopold scored at 9:09 of the second to cut the lead to 4-2. Jason Pominville scored his sixth of the year in the third to make it 4-3, but it wouldn't be enough.
Craig Anderson made 20 saves for the Senators who snapped a two game losing skid. The Sabres fell to 3-6-1 on the year and dropped into 14th place in the Eastern Conference. The Sabres have just one win in the teams last eight games
