BOSTON, MA - (WKBW) Ryan Miller was steamrolled by Milan Lucic, then the Sabres were steamrolled by the Bruins. Boston beat Buffalo 6-2 on Saturday night.
With the Sabres leading one-nothing in the first period. Miller left his crease to play a loose puck in front of him. Miller beat on oncoming Milan Lucic to the puck, but the Bruins forward body checked the Sabres goalie, which seemingly gave all of the momentum to the home team. Lucic was given a minor penalty on the play.
Boston beat Miller three times in the second period. Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin and Nathan Horton scored. Miller left the game after the second period with an upper-body injury. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff says Miller has a sore neck.
Jhonas Enroth replaced Miller for the third period. Chris Kelly, Seguin, and Brad Marchand beat Enroth.
Marc-Andre Gragnani bested Tim Thomas for a power play goal in the third period. Thomas Vanek scored the opening goal of the game for the Sabres.
Buffalo next visits Montreal on Monday.
