Boston (WKBW.com) Johnny Boychuk broke a 1-1 tie at 12:56 of the third period, and David Krejci scored his 18th goal of the season less then 3 minutes later as the Boston Bruins handed the Buffalo Sabres a 3-1 loss on Thursday night. The setback was the Sabres second in the last two games.
Goaltender Jhonas Enroth made 25 saves in the loss in only his second start since January 18th. Jason Pominville scored the lone goal for Buffalo. Pominville opened the scoring at 16:39 of the first period blasting his 25th goal of the season past Tim Thomas.
Boston would tie the game in the second period. Gregory Campbell tipped home a Shawn Thorton shot at 18:09 of the second to tie the game at 1.
The Sabres lost forward Thomas Vanek on Wednesday night. Vanek went to the ice after a hard hit from Boychuk in the third period. Vanek left the game and did not return with an upper body injury.
The Sabres play at Ottawa on Saturday.
