UNIONDALE, NY (WKBW) - Brad Boyes and Jason Pominville scored the only goals of the shootout to propel the Buffalo Sabres over the New York Islanders on Saturday night 4-3.
Goaltender Ryan Miller made 35 saves, and an additional two in the shootout, to post his 235th win. Miller is now the Sabres all-time leader in wins. He passes Dominik Hasek who had 234 victories.
Frans Nielsen had two goals and an assist on Josh Bailey's tally in the first period. Nathan Gerbe scored for the Sabres in the opening frame.
Buffalo's Derek Roy notched a goal in the second period. Paul Gaustad evened the score at three in the third.
The Sabres have now earned seven of their last eight possible points. They host the Bruins on Wednesday
