Anaheim (WKBW.com) Ryan Miller made a season high 43 saves as the Buffalo Sabres shutout the Anaheim Ducks 2-0 on Wednesday night. The 43 save performance was a Sabres regular season record. The shutout was Miller's 26th of his career.
Derek Roy and Brad Boyes both scored for the Sabres. Roy scored his 14th of the season on the power play in the first period. Boyes added his fourth of the year in the second frame. Christian Ehrhoff had an assist on both goals.
The win came in the Sabres debut for Cody Hodgson. The center, acquired in a trade with Vancouver, was very active in the victory. Hodgson finished with 16:04 of ice-time. He appeared on both the power play and the penalty kill units. Hodgson finished with 4 shots.
The Sabres continue the teams west coast swing on Thursday night in San Jose.
