BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo Sabres allowed two shorthanded goals and a power play goal en route to a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
Rangers forward Carl Hagelin opened the scoring in the second period. While the Sabres were on a power play, Hagelin's snap shot beat Jhonas Enroth.
Thomas Vanek evened the score just over a minute later. He took a drop pass from Jason Pominville and beat Martin Biron to tie the game.
However, New York captain Ryan Callahan notched the Rangers' second shorthanded marker late in the frame. One-on-one against defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, Callahan spun and slid the puck along the ice and under Enroth's pad.
Hagelin and Marin Gaborik added third period goals. Gaborik's was on the man advantage.
The Sabres next host Ottawa on Tuesday.
